MN Annual Meeting

The Minnesota LAI annual meeting and luncheon will be held at the Minneapolis Club on Wednesday, April 13th. Members, past and present, come together to renew relationships, welcome the incoming class of new members, elect new officers, and hear a top-notch presenter who will continue the CEO series theme. This year LAI MN is bringing in 17 new members-the largest group ever. They are a diverse and talented group of nominees which includes several seasoned industry professionals along with emerging leaders from a broad range of land economic professions.
Lisa Clarke, executive director for the (Rochester, MN) Destination Medical Center (DMC) Economic Development Agency will be the annual meeting presenter. She oversees the organization that provides services to the DMC Corporation Board to develop, plan, and implement the DMC strategies. DMC is a bold economic development initiative that aims to create a more vibrant and authentic community experience for Mayo Clinic patients, visitors, and residents, with the goal of being the world’s premier destination medical center and America’s city for health.
In addition, the annual meeting also marks the end of Chapter President Brad Wood’s term. Cecile Bedor will succeed him, with Carol Lansing will become vice president. Mr. Wood has praised the current board for being instrumental in attracting distinguished new members and engaging stimulating speakers. He praised the recent caliber of presentations from Doug Baker, Ecolab CEO, Mary Brainerd, HealthPartners CEO, Rhoda Olsen, Great Clips CEO, Chris Coleman, St. Paul Mayor, Tom Fisher, U of M School of Design and Steven Rosenstone, Chancellor of Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (MnSCU), as unique to LAI MN. The board’s mission has been for LAI MN to offer a unique opportunity to connect with other distinguished members of the land economics community and collectively discuss key issues in an intimate setting, that allows open discussion.
