Housing Vancouver Strategy – Update from the Vancouver LEW
December 15, 2017

At the recent Vancouver LEW, Gil Kelly, General Manager of Planning for the City of Vancouver gave a presentation. Gil was a former planning director in San Francisco and Portland.
Recently the City presented its Housing Vancouver Strategy, under Gil’s direction, as a proposed response to what staff call the housing crisis in Vancouver. It contemplates doubling supply from previous targets, targeting new supply to renters and specific income ranges, as well as working with senior governments to manage demand from foreign sources. This might be of some interest to our many recent Vancouver visitors, and LAI members in general.
