The Temple of Understanding (ToU)* invited Elemental Impact (Ei) Founder & CEO Holly Elmore (At-Large member) to host the May monthly Eco Justice for ALL Dialogue.
With the Environmental Stewardship: the business perspective topic, Holly orchestrated the following panel of Ei Advisors and LAI members as the dialogue speakers:
- Stephanie Barger (Sacramento Chapter) – True Certification for Zero Waste / U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) Global Director of Market Transformation
- Simon Lamb (At-Large member, Dorset, England) – author of award-winning Junglenomics
- Tim Trefzer (Atlanta Chapter) – Honeycomb Strategies Event and Venue Sustainability VP, Sports & Venues.
Holly served as the dialogue moderator.
As her opening remarks closed, Holly explained the dialogue landscape; in the initial talk, Stephanie presented from a broad perspective on why environmental stewardship makes good, solid business sense. Tim followed with specific examples of accomplishments within his decade-long role as Director of Sustainability at the Georgia World Congress Center Authority, home to the nation's fourth largest conference center, the Atlanta Falcon's football stadium, and Olympic Centennial Park, and involvement with major sporting events.
For the final presentation, the discussion shifted gears with Simon's talk on Junglenomics and how sustainable accomplishments are no longer feasible to avoid climate disaster; regenerative solutions are imperative.
It was an empowering 60-minute dialogue that showcased business community leadership in environmental stewardship.
The Regeneration in ACTION Magazine article, Environmental Stewardship: the business perspective, provides an overview of the impressive dialogue; the entire dialogue is available for viewing on YouTube. https://bit.ly/3PiCHSu
