Color of Law II: Equitable Residential Appraisals – A view from
the Federal Interagency Task Force on Property Appraisal & Valuation Equity (PAVE)
The Federal Financial Institutions Examination Committee (FFIEC) is one of 13 federal agencies working to develop a transformative set of recommendations to root out racial and ethnic bias in home valuations in the United States under the banner of an Interagency Task Force on Property Appraisal and Valuation Equity(PAVE); see pave.hud.gov. Jim Park has served as Executive Director of the Appraisal Subcommittee(ASC) of FFIEC since 2009, and has been one of the leaders of the PAVE initiative. He will share actions and recommendations of the Interagency Task Force including results of the Subcommittee’s recent hearings.

ParkExecutive Director, Appraisal Subcommittee (ASC), Federal Financial Institutions Examination Committee (FFIEC) Since March 2009, Jim has served as the executive director of the Appraisal Subcommittee. He is the senior staff person responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Agency including development and implementation of ASC policies, program and budget oversight, and development of recommendations for the ASC members. He also represents the ASC before state and federal regulatory and legislative officials, various appraisal industry groups, and the press.

She holds an MBA from Northwestern and BA in Urban Studies from Michigan State.
