The emergence of Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) is becoming quite the rage in the corners and coasts of the United States. Developed by public-private partnerships, as well as the planning of new Vertiport and electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing (eVTOL) facilities. While many states and metropolitan areas have been at the forefront of developing plans and standards for the arrival of AAM, the Chicago area has yet to see the official arrival of these eVTOL facilities.
Please join the LAI Ely Chapter on May 11th for an engaging and informative lunch panel discussion on:
- What is AAM? How is it likely to evolve: last mile package delivery vs. local/mid-range air taxi or shuttle service? What is happening in the U.S. in other large cities and on the coasts? What type of local and regional planning is needed for development of eVTOL facilities?
- What are the Development and Revenue Opportunities of eVTOL facilities? What are AAM/eVTOL facility requirements? How will they operate? What/where are the revenue opportunities? What kinds of partnerships are emerging in the development of these facilities?
- What is the Possible Use of AAM for Last Mile Package Delivery in Chicagoland? What is needed to spur and support AAM facility development in Chicagoland? What is the outlook on movement of air containers and last mile delivery in Chicago and/or possible test site work?
Led by Moderator Jennifer Tammen of Ernst & Young, our panel will offer insight from an Aviation Planner to a Facility Owner/Operator to a Regional Development perspective. Panelists include:
- Chip Snowden: Aviation Market Principal, Hanson Professional Services Inc., Jacksonville, FL.
- Arturo García-Alonso: COO, AvPorts, Dulles, VA
- Reggie Greenwood: Executive Director of Chicago Southland Economic Development Corp., Chicago, IL
