Studies support the connection between quality housing and access to quality healthcare as major contributors to the quality of life for individuals, families, and communities. Across Chicago Metro and statewide there are existing and emerging examples of developments and partnerships between developers and health institutions that focus on addressing health disparities in communities.
The Habitat Company and Sinai Health will share about their partnership to deliver a Community Care and Surgery Center as the anchor of a larger mixed-use development in Chicago’s Lawndale neighborhood. Illinois Housing Development Authority will talk about their new initiative "Healthy Housing, Healthy Communities (H3C)" which focuses on supporting partnerships between affordable housing and health institutions to address inequities in community health.
