With the subway opening in 2017, the City of Vaughan and a handful of landowners are poised to build a new downtown for the City on the largely underdeveloped 400 acre VMC.  

The planning groundwork has been laid to create a vibrant, pedestrian oriented centre and construction is now underway.  It takes a lot to build a new city centre from scratch, and our speakers are well placed to describe this daunting and ambitious undertaking.  Tim Simmonds, Executive Director, Office of the City Manager, City of Vaughan is the top official responsible for making the VMC happen while Paula Bustard, Vice President, leads SmartREIT's development plans for its 120 acre land holdings in the VMC.
