Bill Lawrence was named Executive Director of the region’s largest and most respected historical organization in February of 2016 after joining the San Diego History Center in July 2015 as Chief Operating Officer. With a background in journalism and broadcasting, Bill retired after a 33 year career at the KFMB Stations (CBS 8) in June 2015. He is passionate about our region’s history and the mission of the San Diego History Center – to preserve and promote our region’s history, educate and enrich our community and foster civic pride. He and his wife Suzanne spend time between their home in San Diego and the desert resort community of Borrego Springs. With a passion for mid-century modern architecture Bill is the founder and publisher of BorregoModern.com which seeks to promote the appreciation and preservation of the desert resorts’ mid-century modern design.
