“An Early Look at the MBTA Communities Act Permitting Pipeline”
Guest Speaker: Amy Dain, Senior Fellow, Boston Indicators/Boston Foundation Tuesday, April 28, 11:30 AM; luncheon served at noon McCarter & English Law Firm 265 Franklin Street, Boston
The MBTA Communities Act is the single most ambitious state policy encouraging the development of multi-family housing in the 177 communities of Greater Boston. Amy Dain, of Boston Indicators/Boston Foundation, will provide an update on the communities that have adopted new multi-family housing zoning and the resulting amount of new housing in the pipeline. She is one of the most knowledgeable persons tracking municipal municipal efforts to comply with the Act and produce new housing. Amy has produced seminal studies of zoning and housing in Greater Boston over the past 20 years. She has a Master’s in Public Policy from Harvard’s Kennedy School and a B.A. from Wesleyan University.
This meeting provides an opportunity to meet a person with a firm grasp of what specific suburban communities are doing to build new multi-family housing.
Please RSVP to Chapter President Jim O’Connell—jcoconnell@comcast.net. An RSVP is necessary to access the MacCarter & English office building. Please feel free to bring a friend.
