The Semi-Quincentennial (250th year) celebration of the signing of America’s Declaration of Independence, the seven East Region Chapters will host a series of programs and tours.
New York City is excited to showcase its rich history!

May 14:
- Museum tour (11:15 AM) and lunch (12:00 PM – 2:30 PM) at the historic Fraunces Tavern, with talk by former Manhattan Borough Historian Robert Synder.
- Revolutionary War walking tour by Gotham Center Director Peter Aigner. (3:00 PM – 5:00 PM)
- Dinner at Ukrainian East Village Restaurant with by Gerard Koeppel, author of books on the 1811 Grid Plan and the Erie Canal. (6:30 PM – 9:30 PM)
May 15:
- Walking tour of historical Greenwich Village and Lower Fifth Avenue by Justin Rivers of Untapped New York. (9:00 AM – 11:00 AM)
- Lunch and talk by Professor Benjamin Carp on the Great New York Fire of 1776 and Its Legacy. (11:30 AM – 1:30 PM)
