Our presenter will be: Suzanne Case, Chair of the State of Hawai’i, Department of Land and Natural Resources.
Appointed by Governor Ige in April of 2015, Ms. Case is charged with managing more than 1.3 million acres of State Lands. Her background as a 28-year veteran of The Nature Conservancy and as the Hawai’i Program’s Executive Director from 2001-2015, provided insights into tackling the challenges of native forest stewardship, land protection and coastal and marine conservation.
Ms. Case was born in Hilo and grew up in Hilo and Honolulu.Graduated Punahou School and attended Williams College and Stanford University, where she graduated with honors (B.A., History, 1979). She received her law degree from Hastings College of Law, University of California, San Francisco, where she was a member of the Hastings Law Journal (1983).
