Brian Kearney joined Catellus Development Corporation in February 2015 to lead the company’s local operations for the Arizona State University Athletic Facilities District.  Catellus was selected by ASU in late 2014 as the master developer for this unique 330-acre district at the northeast edge of ASU’s Tempe Campus.  Envisioned as a model for creative urban neighborhood design and sustainable development, the district will feature more than seven million square feet of private development, including mid- and high-rise offices; urban housing; hotels; and retail, restaurant and entertainment space.

Brian began his career in 1987 with the City of Phoenix, where his responsibilities included serving as project manager for the development of America West Arena, leading business attraction activities and heading the City’s downtown redevelopment program.  In 1998, Brian became President and CEO of the Downtown Phoenix Partnership, where he led a public-private partnership charged with managing, marketing and facilitating the revitalization of Downtown Phoenix.  Most recently, from late 2007 through early 2015, Brian served as Chief Operating Officer, and later President, of Gray Development, one of Arizona’s leading multi-family developers.

Brian has also been active in numerous community and professional organizations over the years, including the boards of directors of the Herberger Theater Center, Phoenix Theater, Arizona Science Center, Downtown Phoenix YMCA, Lamda Alpha and the Arizona Multihousing Association, among others.
