Transbay Terminal Center Tour

The Transbay Joint Powers Agency has graciously invited LAI Golden Gate members on a first-hand tour of San Francisco's largest construction project – the Transbay Transit Center. Described as the "Grand Central Terminal of the West," the $4.5 billion project will create the nation's first modern multi-modal transit hub, connecting eight Bay Area counties and the State of California through 11 transit systems. When complete, the five-story, LEED Gold structure will serve 100,000 bus and rail passengers per day, accommodate the future California High Speed Rail, and support a five acre rooftop park. The tour will take members down into the 65-foot deep excavation site for a unique opportunity to see history as it is being made.
