Presenter: Brad K. Byrnes, President
Byrnes & Associates, Inc.
As President of Byrnes & Associates, Inc., Brad Byrnes, continues the family legacy of service started by his father, Kemp Byrnes. Brad joined the business in 2016 after a very successful investment banking career. Brad’s early experiences volunteering in community service and working in the family’s real estate projects have shaped a new generation of urban visionaries. Together, they continue their work on Historic Redwood Street, the Business and Government National Historic District and Historic Redwood Walk Association. Brad has served as President of Byrnes & Associates, Inc. since 2016. His extensive financial background includes 15 years as Senior Vice President at Friedman, Billings and Ramsey and as a partner at Compass Point Research & Trading, where he worked with diverse clients managing assets from $25 million to $100 billion, including mutual funds, hedge funds, private equity funds, family offices, and high net-worth clients.
Under his leadership at Byrnes & Associates, Brad has brokered several significant Baltimore City projects, including the Munsey Apartment Building (7 N. Calvert), the Lanahan Building (22 Light), a 120,000-square-foot multi-family conversion at 300 W. Fayette, and a 232,000 square-foot multi-family conversion of the F&D Building at 210 N. Charles.
Since November 2020, Brad has spearheaded the mixed-use redevelopment, leasing, and management of the Redwood and Vickers Exchange office buildings, totaling over 90,000 square feet. His achievements include executing over 70 new office and retail leases, including the iconic Werner’s Diner. In May 2023, he led the acquisition and ongoing conversion of the former Hotel RL into 130 apartments with first floor restaurant space at 207 E. Redwood Street. Brad serves on multiple boards, including the Charles Street Development Corporation, City Center Residents Association, and the Executive Committee for the Downtown Partnership of Baltimore. Under his leadership, Byrnes & Associates, Inc. received the 2021 Downtown Baltimore Revitalization Award for their commitment to developing Downtown Baltimore’s Central Business District and transforming the Redwood & Vickers Exchange Buildings.
