On July 31, 2026 at noon, Felix L. Facchine, Howard County Executive Chief of Staff and Tonya Aikens, President/CEO of the Howard County Library System will give an update of the new Central Branch on Downtown Columbia’s lakefront, including planning status, the Council approval process for design and a discussion of how this state-of-the-art new branch continues Howard County’s vision to re-imagine the library as a community hub for lifelong learning.
We are delighted that Ben Nichols, President & CEO of Harkins Builders, Inc. will speak as well. Thank you to Ben, LAI Member Steve Rubin, and Harkins Builders, Inc. for providing the venue and lunch.
