Kate Slevin
Executive Vice President, Regional Plan Assocation (RPA)
The Interborough Express (IBX) is a proposed 14-mile light rail line that will run from Bay Ridge, Brooklyn to Jackson Heights, Queens. Kate Slevin will discuss the history, planning, and future construction of the IBX and how it might transform New York. Kate is Executive Vice President at the Regional Plan Association (RPA), which she joined in 2016. She has led the RPA’s work for New York’s congestion pricing program, successfully advocated for the Interborough Express, established the Healthy Regions Planning Exchange, and has co-authored a number of RPA reports. Before joining the RPA, Kate served as assistant commissioner for government and community affairs at the NYC Department of Transportation. Prior to that, she spent a decade at the Tri-State Transportation Campaign, serving as executive director from 2007 until 2012.
