The redevelopment of the old Canada Post building in downtown Vancouver is poised to have a significant impact on the city and region. The transformation of the original International-style building into a large, mixed-use development called The Post will occur on a full city block on the eastern edge of the downtown core. This ambitious heritage project will include 1.1 million square feet of office space that is leased to Amazon and nearly 200,000 square feet of retail space.
Aspirations for the project include creating a signature landmark that brings a new vitality to the surrounding neighbourhood, provision of significant employment space enhancing Vancouver’s reputation in the emerging knowledge economy, and creating a new retail and community destination downtown.
LAI Vancouver is delighted to be joined by Marc Ricou, Senior Vice President, QuadReal Development to hear about The Post, including the experience of steering a redevelopment in the pandemic era and what new challenges and opportunities this brings to the project.
