New Madrid Board hosts AirBus Spain Executive

The new Board of Directors of LAI-MADRID chapter, chaired by Chapter President Francisco Fernández-Ordóñez, held their first LAI Lunch for 2020 on February 26.

The lunch was attended by more than twenty people, and took place at the Intercontinental Hotel in Madrid. Gonzalo Montoya-García, Facility Manager Head of AIRBUS Spain, participated as a special guest and speaker.

President Fernández-Ordóñez introduced our guest speaker, commenting on his extensive background with AIRBUS Spain.

Gonzalo Montoya-García shared his experience in the Spanish market as Head Facility Manager with one of the most relevant European aeronautical companies, to which he has been linked most of his professional career.

 

Montoya-García used as an example the evolution of Facility Management practices in AIRBUS Spain to explain how this discipline has been transformed in our country, from a simple activity aimed at organizing spaces to a sustained strategic function.

He mentioned that, in the specific case of AIRBUS Spain, such evolution is based on three fundamental pillars: centrality, transversality and internationality.
 
He also said that Facility Management has an important contribution in building the corporate culture and AIRBUS Spain financial results. As he indicated, several KPIs related to this discipline have been introduced to measure company's performance. Future plans of AIRBUS Spain were also analyzed by Gonzalo.
 
The lunch ended giving the floor to attendees for questions, that allowed Gonzalo Montoya to share more details on the topics he addressed.

ALMUERZO LAI_MADRID: Cómo el Facility Management añade valor a la gestión de activos inmobiliarios, por Gonzalo Montoya-García, AIRBUS Spain FM&RE Supply Chain Manager

El pasado 26 de septiembre, se celebró el primer almuerzo LAI organizado por la nueva junta directiva del capítulo de Madrid, que preside Francisco Fernández-Ordóñez.

El almuerzo, al que asistió más de una veintena de personas, se celebró en el Hotel Intercontinental de Madrid y contó con la presencia como invitado especial y ponente de Gonzalo Montolla García, Facility Manager de Airbus España.

El acto se inició con unas breves palabras de nuestro presidente en las que trazó una semblanza personal y profesional del invitado. A continuación, Gonzalo Montolla García narró su experiencia como Facility Manager en España de la principal compañía aeronáutica de Europa, empresa a la que lleva vinculado la mayor parte de su trayectoria profesional.

Gonzalo Montoya utilizó la evolución del Facility Management en Airbus España para ejemplificar cómo se ha transformado esta disciplina en nuestro país, desde una simple actividad orientada a organizar espacios a una función estratégica sustentada, en el caso concreto de Airbus España, sobre tres pilares fundamentales: centralidad, transversalidad e internacionalidad.

González Montoya también explicó la importante contribución que el Facility Management tiene no solo en la creación de la cultura corporativa en Airbus España, sino también en su cuenta de resultados, como lo confirma la introducción de algunos de sus KPIs en el Cuadro de Mando de la compañía. Gonzalo Montoya concluyó su intervención desgranando algunos de los planes futuros de Airbus España.

El almuerzo concluyó con un turno de preguntas de los asistentes en el que profundizaron en algunas de las cuestiones clave abordaras por Gonzalo Montoya.
