Mike Cordes has been Managing Director and Principal with ColumbiaNational since 2003. Previously he was Chief Operating Officer of Mercantile Mortgage Corporation, a real estate finance subsidiary of Mercantile Bankshares (now PNC Bank). Mike specializes in multifamily finance utilizing HUD’s programs, the GSE’s, life insurance capital sources, and commercial banks. He has arranged financing for tens of thousands of apartment units, including permanent loans, new construction projects, office-to-apartment conversions, as well as the first multifamily air-rights building utilizing Fannie Mae financing in the U.S.  Mike has also financed several hundred million in manufactured housing communities throughout the Mid-Atlantic. Mike is a graduate of Franklin and Marshall College and received his MBA from Loyola University in 1983.  He is past president and former board member of the Maryland Mortgage Bankers Association.
