Eric Witt is the executive director of the Santa Fe Film Office. Eric works closely with state and national governments, major studios and independent production houses regarding film/television production, sporting events and related incentive programs. In addition, the office operates in coordination with the County and City to further shared economic development goals, including the expansion of high-speed broadband access, affordable housing, career programs, transportation infrastructure, tourism and more.
Prior to Eric’s work with the Santa Fe Film Office, he served the administration of New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson as Deputy Chief of Staff; Director of Legislative/Political Affairs; and Director of Media Industries Development from 2003 – 2010. During his term, he guided the growth of the film and television industry in New Mexico from $8 million in 2002 to over $4 billion by 2010. In addition to expanding production, he also oversaw the establishment of statewide crew training programs, educational and business development, and community outreach efforts -- programs which subsequently have become global standard practices.
