Ely Chapter Luncheon: Food Hubs and Urban Farming

How is the Chicago-region developing distribution systems designed to move locally produced food into mainstream markets? What policy or planning efforts are in place to promote urban farming? A panel discussion with academics, practitioners and policy advocates for local, resilient and progressive food delivery and growth.

Molly Meyer, CEO & Founder of Omni Ecosystems and Co-Founder & Co-Manager of The Roof Crop, LLC.

Howard Rosing, Executive Director of the Steans Center at DePaul University.

Faculty member in Community Service Studies and affiliate faculty member in Geography, Sustainable Urban Development. Dr. Rosing is a cultural anthropologist whose research focuses on urban food access, economic restructuring, community food systems, and food justice movements in Chicago and the Dominican Republic.
